Live Jazz in Saskatoon

Music fans flocking to Saskatoon this season will not be short of shows thanks to the amazing series on offer at The Bassment. With nearly non-stop concerts featuring a range of styles, this is a place you’ll want to check out.

Located in the heart of this vibrant city, The Bassment is only a quarter of an hour drive away from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Blairmore hotel, making it ideal for both musicians playing there and concertgoers hoping to check it out.

Home to the Saskatoon Jazz Society, you’ll be able to see some incredible musicians as part of the Jazz Series that showcases national and international tours along with local acts. You are also welcome to join the monthly Jazz Jams if you sing of play an instrument. The next one takes place on March 25 with The Brett Balcon Trio. The Basement is also a hub of activity come June when the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival starts, hosting many of the acts.

The Roots Series features stellar folk, country and traditional groups. There are multiple gigs a week with up and coming acts as well as old favourites. Dates to note include Ontario-based Trent Severn on March 4 and Goitse from Dublin, Ireland on March 12.

Piano music also makes a regular appearance at The Bassment and world-renowned pianists often drop by. You’ll even find a no-cover piano bar on Friday and Saturday evenings before the later concerts start. This is an excellent way to get a feel for the venue and a great option for a staff night out if you happen to be hosting a conference or meeting at the Best Western Plus Blairmore.

The above is just of small selection of what you might find here, check out the current listings for more information. There is a unique and enjoyable artist on almost every night of the week! This is just one of the many music stages in Saskatoon. The city is home to a host of bars, cafes and concert venues, making it a cultural hotspot within Saskatchewan and a must-see destination for music lovers.
